Research Interests

My research is highly multidisciplinary, encompassing fluid mechanics (e.g., capillarity and low Reynolds number flows), phase-change heat transfer (desalination, condensation, and freezing phenomena), and solid mechanics (contact mechanics and soft matter physics).  I have tried to use a rich blend of experimental, analytical, and computational methods to gain a comprehensive understanding of difficult and challenging problems such as anti-icing surfaces, freezing phenomena, jumping-droplet condensation, the dynamic wettability of natural organisms, mechanics of anisotrpic and functionaly graded materials, continum mechanics of reinforced elastic media, fracure mechanics, and more.  Find some of my research works under research section!
